    Default I'm Sorry In Advance

Today I will be going to view the new model Superb, (so what I hear you ask) well although the rear styling isn't really to my taste the rest of it is a hard package to beat, acres of rear legroom, comfortable seats, and most important a DSG gearbox option, up til a year ago I wouldn't have considered anything other than a VX car, but 14 mths on and I am having a major sway towards both Skoda and VW, my current Superb after a few niggles, mainly dealer problems is a very nice place to be for a 10 hour shift, the Vectra however wasn't, for me it was cramped, and I now know I chose right buying it rather than another C, as you know both Skoda and VX have new models out this year, the Skoda is out in September I think, the Insignia December iirc, the Insignia on looks alone wins hands down, but I fear VX will once again think nobody rides in the back, and the tip auto is way behind the DSG for economy, working to my figures against a mates Touran, the Superb is 7 mpg poorer, and against the Vectra auto I was loaned, the DGS vs Tip is some 12 mpg behind, this is working on 36mpg at 17mph vs 29mpg at 18mph, vs 24mpg at an unknown average speed, right now the plan is to either run the Superb for another 18 mths or trade in for a Passat DSG until the other two otions appear on the second hand circuit, but working a 2.0CDTi auto against a 2.0DTi DSG with 33% better economy it looks like I'm leaving the fold for a while, sorry but 33% is about 28 quid a week to me, and thats a fair chunk off the repayments.

    Have fun..................

Just spent the last 3 weeks watching a heap of new Superb's on the Tour de France.

One thing you could tell from watching them on TV is that they do have acres of room in the cabin. They look OK as well.

    Viewing mission accomplished

    Summary

Looks - Not sold on completely
    Comfort - Very
Innovation - The twin boot is a genius idea, and I noticed Vents in the B pillars
Media - Sat Nav unit looked awesome
Quality - Mid ground here, I wouldn't say it's the best plastics.

You can open either the whole hatchback or just the lower half like a saloon boot.

Blimey, not sure if it's just the pics angle, but it looks enormous! Like you say, Ian, not entirely sure on the looks, but seems to have plenty of kit and enough room inside for very long legged rear passengers!
