    Hose 1 is turbo to intercooler and is the most common failure.
    Hose 2 is intercooler to throttle housing (such as it is).
    Vac pipes are also a common failure, and well worth checking to, but these usually give a more permanent limp mode or even a non starter, and the fault is not likely to clear on a restart.
    As I said above, for limp mode under load. boost hoses and boost pressure sensor are favourites.

    Hi there

    Thanks for all that info checked the 2 tubo pipes they were ok 2 of the small vacuum connectors were split so changed them took of the sensor off very carefully and soaked in carb cleaner, put back onto car, road tested and it ran absolutley perfect,so connected caravan and went for a good drive and the problem has gone.

    The car has plenty of power

    can you tell me if you found the problem as mine is doing the same only when towing done everything possible and still doing the limp mode thing
