    Default Removing a rear spoiler

As the title suggests really, how easy/hard is it to remove a rear spoiler. It was fitted by Vx using a Irmscher bonding kit but it is'nt a genuine Vx part. There are no bolts etc just the bonding kit.

My question really is what will the state of the paint be like underneath and will all the glue come off without damaging the boot

    Thanks in advance

If you mean the car no, but the spoiler prob if can remove it ok. The bonding kit was supplied by Vx when they painted and fitted it.

id try the old hairdryer and a credit card jobbie. i reckon the bonding would be like a silicon based thing. sure that warming it slowly would make it easier. them just rub any excess off with finger and give it a good clean and polish. dunno what else to suggest.

Sorry, no chance The bonding agent sets like cement when it's dry.

The only way to remove that spoiler will be to literally rip it off, and then you'll have to either deal with 2 huge holes in your paintwork or 2 huge lumps of rock-hard bonding which you'll need to sand down and repaint.

Do you really need to take it off?

You say it's not a genuine VX part, but is it a genuine irmscher part?
With the boot in the raised position look at the offside end, underneath there should be an irmscher logo and a number

I've checked the original spolier parts brochure for the Vectra C, and all the parts look to be from imscher

Is this is a dual or triple support version?

No, I know its not a genuine part because i bought it from E Bay and had it sprayed and fitted by Vx using an Irmscher bonding kit provided by them.
