    Default Calling all dog owners!

Where do I start, I took Tiny to the vet early yeasterday morning; they stated he was doing well..

Tiny started to become ill late evening, he found it hard to breath; it has been the worse night ever, spoke to Emergency service 24 hour Veterinary surgeons ...

They stated to me to get fans, cold blanket, open every window; to bring his tempeture down...

I have done this, he has got a little better; but he is still finding it hard to breath..

I have an appointment booked for 8am, to put him on a breathing machine; he will be staying at the Vet Hospital; as the problem he has a bad heart and taking medication for it ..

It is very touch and go, I have spent this morning in floods of tears, while keeping him cool...

Has anyone suffered this with their dog???

Thanks for any advise you can give me

I haven't had anything like this happen but I would follow the vets advice to keep him cool.

    Hope everything is ok.

Its amazing how animals, (Dogs and Cats in particular) become such important parts of the family. No matter where you've been, how long you've been away without them, they are ALWAYS happy to see you and they ALWAYS make it obvious, they can ALWASY tell when your upset, they can ALWAYS tell when somethings wrong and at the end of the day they will ALWAYS love you. I dont know how I'd cope if our dog or cat left us, or anything happened to them at all! I really feel for you right now, I hope it all has a happy ending...

a quick and easy way to reduce temperature is put front paws in cold water. It works wonders. Hope all is ok, if i was in the same situation i would struggle to stay ably.

can understand how you feel there mate as my twin brother has two rottwielers and they are like his own kids and the male was sick the other week and he was like yourself and really worried. The dog was shaking and not eating but got him to the vets and got some of the old medicine and now is all fine.Hope your dog is the same mate as i would say the dog is just like a part of your family so fingers crossed all is well

Sounds like heart trouble tbh, had the same with my cat, if he's blowing up, i.e getting fat, ask the vet about frusemide, it will shift retained fluids that the heart isn't.
