Just thought I'd remind everyone about THIS thread.

The show season is approaching rapidly and Admin and Regional Organizers will be working their butts off getting us tickets, arranging food, getting magazine notoriety and keeping the site up and running.

This is the perfect way to show them that they are appreciated, not to mention helping to keep the site funded.

No pressure, but get you hands in your pockets.

    Cheers

Got to agree with Alex. My mum is an active member of the MR2 drivers club which has a large membership and a turnover of £100k ish but they have struggled and lost money over the last 12 months due to a drop in numbers. We have got a fantastic little club going here which admin have set up from nothing. As everyone knows, nothing in life is free and if we want to continue to enjoy being on here we all have to contribute. The effort put in by admin and RO's is invaluable so I guess the rest of us should liberate a few notes. Our membership stands at 615 so if everyone dibbed in £20 that would give them £12k which I am sure would be a nice start.

    That's 3 so far then.

even a monthly donation from everbody would be a good idea imo. least that way there would be a steady amount coming in to run the site .

Wonder if it would be possible for admin to give us all an idea of what kind of figure they think they need during the course of the year to pay for the site plus the show requirements etc. As David said a monthly donation is another possibility. Could admin also make this thread a sticky to keep it in people's minds. Also an update on the club merchandise would be good as I am sure many members would be happy to pay a small premium on clothing etc if it was helping to fund the club.

thanks Alex for the thought, and everyone else for the donations. Weve actaully got over £100 in the club account at the minute, but probably nearer £200 if i go and check. To be honest, the forum doesnt cost much to run, approx £40 a year for the software license, £40 a year for the various domain names we have and around £7 a month for the unreliable server host we have lol.
The big chunks of cash come when we want to buy things like new banners or a decent quality 'ez-up' gazeebo (which ive asked for but dont think we can afford just yet) as these things are £100+ a time but imo needed if we want to portray a proffessional and organised image to world.
We are trying not to go down the route of creating a split membership club like some other clubs/forums, where those paying get access to other 'ghost town' areas of the forum. We want to keep everything open to everyone and be as up front about costs as we can. We also wont be bullied into making our club 'paying member' only in order to join the VBOA enabling us to have a stand at Billing Vauxhall Rally.
We try to make a few £ on merchandise as ever little helps and i think we maybe made 50p on each of the calenders lol. Donations really help as it helps uskeep the club 'free' so im sure its much appreicated by all 600+ members who use this resource.

Even if guys & gals want to 'donate' just a few quid, it would be highly appreciated by everyone.
