I'm on my third Home Cinema System
My current one is a middle of the range SONY DAV-DZ111
It's probably discontinued now, but was a like-for-like replacement for a failed processor on my previous Philips
It's been faultless with excellent performance, identifying the difference between music and films

Take a look at the SONY DAVDZ260 with 850W, this is probably its equivalent now

If you have SONY multicontrollers, then it can be controlled on the DVD button
The sound system will also adjust any games for the right sound for the game being played, quite weird sometimes!

The best way to connect a TV, with SCART, a PS3, and a Home Cinema system is to use a multi-connector SCART
That way they all talk to each other and there is no need worry about what goes where
I suggest you buy one with either four or six SCART sockets that way you can expand on it if need be in the future

All you then need to do is connect your speakers to the Home Cinema system and bingo, all done
Even if you don't go for a SONY Home Cinema system, providing you keep it turned on, the TV is always channeled through the AV channel, then you will get surround sound all the time
Don't forget to turn the volume on the TV to zero
You then control the volume through the Home Cinema system

I have PS3, X Box 360 Elite and Sky HD through a 4 way HDMI splitter as my TV only has 1 HDMI Input. PS3 is also connected to surround speaker system by optical cable, only cheap surround system from argos for £100, but it gives great sound on games and Blu-Ray DVD's.
