    Default Fuel level guage

    Not sure if anyone has had this problem before.
    Filled up car today, guage is only on mark between full & 3/4.
    Any ideas??????

    Did you switch the engine off when you filled it, I filled mine the other day with the engine running (The wife was in it and I hoped someone might steal her) . The guage didn`t raise until I restarted the car, it was weird ...

    had it once on mondeo think turned engine off and was parked on slight incline - gave stupid reading.
    my vectras funny.never matches range to level when getting low on fuel 18 miles left and light comes on.
    stealer will look at when goes in

    Also since I got a new set of clocks in, the 31 mile fuel warning comes on at 1/4 tank, annoying as well ....

    No, had keys outof ign, in pocket.
    Have been out in car since and has only gone up a bit more.

    ok this is only what i heard and was lead to believe.
    did u try and squeeze as much as possible in - like up the neck and therefore the guage is sort of floating not sure where it`s at.
    heard of this once or twice - might not even apply to modern cars

    either that or the breather is blocked - thereby not allowing a full tank in?

    Just a note guys, its illegal to fill your car at the petrol station whilst the engine is running, and very dangerous!
