    Default The first Vec-B I had-PROJECT

Here is a picture of the first Vec-B I had, it was a project I did.

Basically the car was an interior fire, interior was gutted, front end of the loom was like a tube of copper wire and the panels were smoked inside.

Werent really into getting pictures then so simply did a before (after I started) and also have an after one somewhere, will find and post.

But here it is: This was what was left of a Vectra B, 1.7 TD LS 1996. Completely gutted the insides, inc carpets and sound proofing foam and wire brushed the panels (the lot of them) and had to respray bits, etc. COMPLETE NEW INSIDE AT THE TIME, and upgarded to a GLS trim, much better than the manky LS.

Second pic is how it was after I finished with it, but the outside, will find one of the inside and post later when found!

Must admit, it was a mission and a half!

Oh, also decided at the time that it needed better wheels than steelies, so on went the 16" BSA Racing 5-spokes!

    Bye bye Vec B

All in all, I spent 3 months on it, consisting of evenings and weekends. I used to be at uni at the time so used to come home and then straight on the car until about 10pm. November to January. In the snow, rain, sleet and everything you can imagine! The worst was fitting the sunroof whilst balancing it on my head.....boy i can still feel the indent!

When it started up though, it was a case of jumping for joy, literally!!!

A few more snaps of how it looked once I finished with it. This was in the year Nov 2000 - Jan 2001.

1.7 TD parts were literally like rocking horse pooooo!

First one, interior, second one dash area, 3rd one is the Pre-Addition of the Alloys!

Certainly make the difference dont they???

What d'you think of the finished article? Was worth the wait wasnt it!

Top car that was, love the red colour and dying for another red car, although they get faded as fooook!

Hats off to you there G!

Not an easy job especially when wiring and looms are involved.

    What a transformation!
