Default Big plus for BSR Support

Well my first attempt at loading the BSR remap had a hiccup with 'this PPC does not match the car' message then on the second attempt, the PPC was locked and would not then syncronise to BSR website. 3 emails later within 15 minutes and BSR had resolved the problem. Car now remaped and wow, 3rd & 4th gear you can really notice the difference. 6th gear seems a bit flatter on the uptake but I can live with that and as the ECU re-learns it may improve. Only travelled 3 miles but defo notice the difference. Once again, big plus for the speedy BSR support and first impressions on driving are good with no visable smoke out the back.

Yep had good service as well when my car would not take the map. What a difference afterwards, enjoy your new car!!!

The difference is amazing but if the power delivery in yours is anything like mine be careful in 1st - mine pulls reasonably until it hits around 2300 rpm & then takes off like a scalded cat. It can be very disconcerting at first, especially if the roads are anything other than bone dry.

Mine has just done the same. Car was in for a service so I mapped it back to original before going there.

Got her back tonight and they must have done a software update, got the old "This does not match this car" and then she locked up.

Tried to re-sync the PPC but she is still locked. Email gone to support and now it's a waiting game.

    Do they work weekends ?

It was noted at the East midlands rolling road that BSR maps are producing much more boost than standard, upto 28psi (This is above even what my turbo was kicking). I've sent my new one back to Turbo Technics again to make sure Vx hadn't given me a dud and it was showing signs of over boost damage... I'm not sure if this is how they gave it to me or not but my current boost levels are actually set lower than standard. I'm not saying that BRS don't know what they are doing by any means but it does raise some possible questions... My first turbo was still producing boost after failure of the bearing, the seals and every part but the waste gate was damaged.

There is no denying that the remaps make a difference though, so get out there and enjoy it!

With that in mind Karl, what are your thoughts and is there anything I need to either be listening for or doing to look after the turbo.

I have now done somewhere in the region of 28k with no real issues and I hope to keep it that way

Rite chaps. Three weeks since I did the BSR remap and I am loving the car more than ever. I am not really driving it that hard but I am gently applying the power in 3rd 4th and 5th gears and changing up at about 3.3 k revs. The drive is so smooth and the power delivery is comparable to V6 and V8 petrol engines I had of yesteryear. Comsumption as yet not effected. So the short term verdict from me is thumbs up
