Default Iphone hands free and music streaming in Vectra

    HI all,

Got my new Vectra 1.9D CDTI 150 SRI 5DR now. Nice car

I have just upgraded my old iphone to one of the new ones, I had an AUX in on my old vectra, but I don’t think I have on this new one.

I have an iPhone 3G I want to play music from and also be able to take calls on it through the CD 70 navi.

I have looked at the IO Play
    http://www.my-io.com/Products/iOPLAY.aspx
    It good some good reviews..
    http://www.macworld.co.uk/ipod-itune...?reviewid=2647

But, it’s a Amp in its own right, From what I was told at Halfords when I had a peek, It sits in the middle of your speaks and CD70 and when you get a call or use the iphone, ipod, it switches over so the sound comes through all your speakers.

It’s a 4x35 w amp, so it should be loud enough for most people.

Has anyone had one of these fitted?

I would like to know what they’re like. Also, a big one for me is....
If you’re using the SatNav from the CD 70, and you’re listening to the ipod/iphone, do you still get the sound from the satnav ok?

From what I understand, it will not work like that.

Can anyone else suggest a different route to take that’s not stupid money?

    Thanks

I have a bluetooth kit alread, but i really want to do the streaming as well.
The one i have does not do it, its a old nokia car kit.

I dont think the parrot one does streaming, i am not to sure though, will have to have a look see

And yes, the CD70 does do MP3s as well. 1 CD ta a time though, Thats only a few albums and i do a lot of driving, dont want to mess about changing discs.

Think the problem with streaming is that the phone input on the CD70 only goes to the front speakers as well and it may even be mono. Does your car kit have a seperate speaker? The speaker can be removed and the inputs put into the back of the cd70 as there is a line in for them. This line in can not be used for anything else as aready said it is mono and fronts only

The bluetooth kit form VX that Lofty has shows up on the screen so it might be worth a PM to him and asking. Think it doesnt tho but worth asking

i just use the mute on the car kit to the stereo, It has its own external speaker and mic.
Not put it into this car yet, but might do soon.
Just be easier with a all in one solution as apose to 2 units.

    Just looking about now...

oh,,,, hang on,,,, just re-read what you said there......

Is there a speak input to the stereo then?
Or is it a low level input for the phone speaker?
If so, i would be intrested in that for sure.

Also, i understand, some of the CD70 Navi's have a line in, I have it in the menu ut not sure were to look for the cable. I did read something about it being behind the cd70 itself, i looked, but mine dont have the cable there.

Do you know what pins on the back of the CD 70 a line in would be by any chance?

I have the nokia kit as well and the sound comes out of the stereo speakers. You can get a ready made adapter to do it. Plug and play as they say.
You need to take the unit out and look at the wiring diagram on the back (white label). Take a pic and post it up and we can see what inputs you have.
