Recalls

Just got a new flip style key for my vectra and rang the dealers too book it in to have it coded and the girl asked if ive had the recalls done on it as in handbrake and alternator, i said i only had my car a month and she said we will sort them out when its in tommora, anyone know what the recalls are for? and surely they ar efree of charge repairs yes as i work in a volvo garage and out recalls are free

As far as i am aware recalls a FOC, which reminds me I will have to see if mine needs anything doing..

Did no think the folding key worked on th pre facelift Vec. Has it got the 3 buttons cos my dads new shape sri Astras folding key has 2 buttons.

my prefacelift has the new style 3button flipkey

Handbrake recall is to fix the possibility of it dropping down on its own.. And the recall on the alternator is due to a bad diode pack which was fitted for a while which could cause problems..

yeah the old style 3 button remotes have been superseeded by the new style flip keys, you cant get the old style anymore from vx dealers. has anyone had the alternator recall done, is it a case of fitting a new alternator??
