I have recently been stitched up by the dealership I bought my Vectra from. Despite me asking about 5 times if the Stereo would play MP3 cd's, it won't. I think the salesman just looked in the manual and mistakenly assumed it was the CD30 MP3 model, when its the base model CD30.
I know, I know. Never trust a salesman.
They have admitted guilt and will foot my bills for changing my stereo to one that will play MP3's, and I'd prefer the standart kit. (theiving little ***** live too close!)
My problem is this... They are under the impression that standard stereo systems are locked to each cars chassis number, and therefore I cannot simply swap it out for a CD30 MP3 at my local dealer.
I understand from this website that this is not the case, and that dealerships should have the software available to them to unlock systems from the chassis number. Is this correct?
How do I go about explaining this to a dealership? Whats the software they need to unlock this? The service manager at the vauxhall main dealer I bought it from is not aware that this is possible. Does anyone know of a dealership in my neck of the woods that has a clue?
