    Default Just been signed off....

Had a bit of an accident last saturday, decorating the hall, coming down the step ladder missed a rung lost ballance and put my right hand through a glass inner door severing two tendons in my right hand , had an op yesterday to sew em back up,so i,m signed off for a month ,just mad how it happened really, only thing is the glass in the door was'nt safety glass so having it changed as we speak by the insurance company Direct Line who are straight on the case.

On the down side my company only pay SSP, so no company sick but we'll muddle through i suppose.

Yeesh. That's one of my biggest fears. Well, not a fear as such but slicing tendons weirds me out. The hallway door at the bottom of the stairs has a glass window in it, I always have visions of myself tripping down the stairs and launching my head right through it.

Speedy recovery for you though, mate.

Ouch, I have a fear of glass, its more dangerous than we give it credit for. Had to have the end of my finger sewn back on after an accident changing a piece of door glass once. Sliced the top of my knuckle of drying the inside of a drinking glass that just split in half.

Glass and corned beef tins - fear them both.

Hope you recover quickly, sounds like the insurance company are doing a top job.

Funny you should say that m8 but it has crossed my mind several times, espeicially with the kids playing near it,so iv'e decided to get rid of the inner door and replace with something else, don't know what yet though.

Yeah, agree. It's not so bad for me because no kiddies to worry about. It's on my list of things to change, but it's just finding the spare funds, there's always something more important to spend money on.

Someone quote me on that when I'm lying in hospital with a door frame around my head!
