Default Is your Cdti's Performance Consistent ??

    54 Plate Cdti 150 Estate.

Now, My car has had lots of bits replaced
    Inlet Manifold
    AirFlow Meter
    OverBoost Valve
    Map Sensor
    Thermostat
    Egr Valve

But to me it seems to perform inconsistently (But it may just be me)

When it is perfoming TipTop it feels like somebody has attached another spring to the Throttle (Strange you might think) The throttle feels tighter, The engine is more responsive, You don't have to press it as far for it to lurch forward, if you get me ..

When i feel the car is not performing TipTop the throttle feels lighter & you have to load it up further to get it to perform..
My Mrs as a passenger says it still feels powerful but to me as the driver it feels lame & flatter & there appears to be a distinct difference in how the throttle pedal feels, So much so that you do Notice/feel it

Does anyone else have this ??

    Cheers

    Dean

I notice quite a difference depending on weather and time of day

Best performance seems to be on cold dry nights, typically between 02:00 and 06:00
Worst performance seems to be on warm wet days, typically between 14:00 and 19:00

I swear that the harder I drove mine, the better it ran. If I let it chug around town for a couple of hours it seemed to lose all its enthusiasm. Almost as if it was somehow adapting to how I drove...

    Strange...

Never have any problem with mine 1.9cdti 150 with BSR remap, decat and K and N panel filter. Always willing to go at any speed. I think the Estate has the dreaded DPF (Diesel particle filter) and I believe this can cause lower perfomance on and off when it regenerates. not sure tho but someone will be along to agree or disagree with my statement

Apparently the ECU does learn your driving style How true it is and what difference it actually makes i don't know

The DPF doesn't actually detract from the car's performance - it wrecks your consumption for the time that it's regenerating but the ECU must compensate because if anything, the car seemed more responsive during the burn.

    Paul.

I did think that, As i gave it some Pig last night & this morning & now it feels friskier !!
trouble is with today's roads & traffic , you do spend more time crawling So if that is the case on the adaptive Ecu learning front we are all Doomed !!
My average speed on the Onboard comp is a staggering 27 Mph

As for the Dpf, It does seem to make a small difference when it has regenerated, But not as noticeable as what i described above !!

I understand that Ambient Temps can make a difference but this feels quite noticeable..

Another thing i have noticed is the fact the the car also feels torquier with the Aircon running & perhaps put this down to the extra Diesel being consumed !!

    Cheers

I do wonder if it is all in my head ! Or Foot
It can feel to perform for days & then it feels flatter, But i do have to do a fair bit ot noise to tail, Low speed driving !!

Im thinking of purchasing another Map & running with that for a while to compare, But need to know if they would be willing to put my old map back on if i was not happy !! Then there is the expense !! Just for trial purpose's... To see if it is me or perhaps the Map ??

    Perhaps Hypnosis would be cheaper
