In-car Camera

It an in-car camera that records up to 2 hrs, if incident free, it will then re-record over it.
SHOULD HELP OUT WITH 4R5EH0LE5 TRYING TO GET OUT OF BEING BLAMED FOR AN ACCIDENT THEY STARTED.

This sort of system is very popular in the USA (and those ones also have a rear-facing camera) - drops your premium if you have it installed. Great evidence against somebody else if it's their fault. Downside is that if it's your fault the video evidence is there in all it's glory against you! lol

The systems in the US are more hard-wired into the car and record, IIRC, in a two hour loop. If you have an incident you hit a button on the unit and it then saves the last however many minutes the system is set to do and will do this automatically in an impact. I don't think you can delete it once it's done that. At least that system if you don't want the video to be made available, you just whip out the SD card. lol

Is it legal? I remember looking at putting a camera to look over my garden and onto the car. I was advised against it because of something to do with filming minors IF they walked passed? Was told it was fine if it only looked over my property but if it filmed outside my property it was not legit. If this is true, and I say If, then surely this would not be admissible in court? Although saying that many buses have that sort of thing fitted rounds our way.

With reference to the property bit it gets complicated if the camera is moveable. i.e you can scan up and down the street.

I've got two fixed ones which show the drive and the rear garden.

Amazing the amount of people who come to the house every day when we're at work.

I'd assume it's perfectly legal mate. Vision-Technology (the maker), arn't a micky mouse outfit. As you say, I see hundereds of buses with thses things etc....

YES - you can film in a public place.
I prefer the type that film/record constantly, not just if you have a jolt. Was considering getting this (below) for a while, but now that I've got a Signum, have realised the rain sensor would get in the way, which is a bit of a shame.

I prefer the type that film/record constantly, not just if you have a jolt. Was considering getting this (below) for a while, but now that I've got a Signum, have realised the rain sensor would get in the way, which is a bit of a shame.
