Tyre noise?

Hi, my 2007 Vectra 30Cdti has the 18inch alloy upgrade and has Bridgestone Potenza re 040 225/45/18 tyres with 95 y load rating. I seem to get a droning noise at about 30mph which sounds like tyre noise, however I have just had new tyres and I am sure that I did not have the noise from the old tyres (same tyre). Is this being experienced by any other owners?

If it's just appeared after new tyres, then I would say that it's a good possibility. 19" Toyos were quite noisy on my estate, only from the rear though, and haven't yet put them on the Signum to see.

30mph sounds quite low for tyre noise though....

I reported this to my local VX dealership at the beginning of the year
Their first inspection returned nothing
The noise has remained
Another inspection, when the rear pads and discs were replaced, has shown that both rear axle hubs are showing excessive wear
The trailing arm bushes were also worn and had to be replaced
The dealership asked me to let a month pass then rebook in
Did so and they agreed the noise has been caused by unusual wear on both rear axle hubs
Seems to be quite a wiating list for replacement axle hubs and finally booked in for this Monday
Going to be without my car for two days while they do it

My car had this droning noise as well. It appeared about 4 months after I had it from new & still had it when I sold it.

I think it's just the tyre noise reverberating through the back at that particular speed & is nothing to worry about. If you accelerate or slow it goes I assume?

I had it checked & the dealer found nothing. (Although thats no surprise really!)

TBH the droning was't intrusive & could only be heard if the road was very smooth.

If you hear it again, turn the stereo up & ignore it lol

The noise increases with speed, it can first be heard at about 40mph
I didn't have it prior to the rear trailing arm bushes being replaced

Wrong front brake pads arrived, yet again
So the replacement rear axle hubs have been put on hold
