Default GSi 3.2 auto box - remapping?

Is it possible to remap the VX auto box?

Reason for asking is that in normal auto mode and "normal"driving, 1-2 fine @ 3000rpm, 2-3 fine @ 3000rpm, 3-4 problem. Drops in to 4th OK, but feels like the car has fallen in to a hole, one almighty flatspot as the revs drop back to just under 2000rpm. You can get the engine spinning again but means using the first stage of kick down to drop back to 3rd and using more right foot. Most noticeable when exiting a roundabout or coming out of a bend - when you want it, it ain't there.

Have no problem with the tiptronic side of things apart from waiting for what seems an eternity for the box to change up after flicking the gear lever LOL. For example, up to 3000rpm in 3rd, flick lever to change to 4th, revs go to nearly 4000rpm before it finds 4th.

I know this might be a trait of the mighty V6 not generating enough umph low down but can the auto box brain (I'm sure it has one), be checked and if necessary, modded?

IIRC others have noticed a flat spot with the 3.2 as well. Have you done the airbox mod and changed your filter? I'm sure that's helped others...

Yes mate, Courtenay panel filter and air box mod. I think it's an engine characteristic more so than the gearbox. Could always re-map the engine to try and iron out this hole in the performance but don't have a spare few hundred £ at the moment.
