    Cool Tinting Rear Lights

I think I might be part Scottish... I'd rather have a go at this myself for a tenner than fork out over £100 for new rear clusters! Trawling through some old threads I found these pics

Which look exactly how I want mine to look. A few questions though...

    1. On the genuine Signum smoked rear clusters, is the whole lot smoked, or just the indicator/reverse lens?
    2. Has anyone else done this to Vectra or Signum lights?
    3. It looks like the reflector area is tinted too - but still reflects the camera flash. Do we think these are MOT legal?

    Cheers

What reflective bit ? I've got the lexus lights on mine at the minute but am thinking of tinting my old ones blue. But i'm sure the lexus ones don't have a reflective bit and there mot legal.

On the first pic, look at the left hand cluster - the reflector is in the section above the reverse lens, on the outside of the cluster. I can't tell if it's been left clear or if it's reflecting the camera flash.

I have tinted mine, on the estate, still not 100% convinced I really like the look, lol, but it is growing on me.
Just wanted to be different, and there isn't a lot, ie any, options for the estate.
Fortunately the reflectors are separate on the estate, because you can NOT legally tint the reflector.
I considered just doing the indicator and reverse light, SRI style, but decided on a light tint over the whole light unit, all four of em, lol.
Not pictures yet, but I’ll get one.

it should be ok, as the siggy & vec have the reflector in the lower part of the bumper. hence why the lexus lights don't need one..

just seen the back of the siggy.....and it's reflectors ARE in the rear cluster!!!! sorry
but the vec ones are in the rear bumper....oops.

oh by the way, they are not m.o.t legal. cops have never had a problem with em coz they do still reflect. but not enough for m.o.t.

but all it means is buy 1 or 2 of them stick on reflctive square things for bikes and caravans. few quid at halfords and then take off atraight after.

i stick mine very bottom of the boot close-ish to the lights. sorted.
