    Default Proud parent moment!!!

I am sure many of you are aware of our eldest son, James - he of the recent GCSE stress

Just thought I would share in my proud mum moment - he's a mad keen footballer and plays in the local Sunday youth league. About 3 months ago, a football scout saw him and a team mate playing in a match and asked if they would like to play in an international tour, representing the best of Cheshire youth talent, in a 'Worl Cup' style tournament taking place in Holland!

There have been many training sessions and much excitement on his part, and this morning at the godforsaken hour of 4am, Chris and I dropped him off at the Crewe Alex FC ground, to wait for the coaches to take them on their trip. They are away for a week - they have executive travel all the way and stay in a 4 star hotel - they're pretty much treated like professionals

Our boys have Ghana, USA, and Holland in their group - they have a day off on Monday and the organisers are taking the guys to Amsterdam for the day - would YOU want to take a group of hormonal 16/17 year old lads to Amsterdam?!?!?

Needless to say, very proud and happy for him - not sure whether this is the start of anything big, but a heck of an experience either way

    One very proud Mum!

Excellent Mrs D, congrats to him, you are right to be proud!

My son Matt plays for a Sunday team as well.

Used to be New State Lions, now merged with another larger club called Willenhall Town.

Well done James. As you might know Lou i am heavily involved in the local youth football (referee, league executive member and referees secretary) This kind of trip if organised correctly does benefit the kids and they do learn a lot from them.
As long as they behave themselves that is

Got it licked already, when they see mini Gerrard running out on the pitch they'll know they've already lost.
