Default Rear Parking Sensor Kit. Can it be done without bumper removal?

Hi Guys... I'm thinking about buying one of the many reversing kits thats on Ebay together with the relay to avoid affecting the bulb sensor circuit.

I have read the 'How 2' on this subject, but is it not possible to fit these without having to remove the rear bumber assy? If not how difficult is the rear bumber to remove?

Any recommendations for a particular kit?

It's possible if you have the exact measurements as in that How 2, but TBH it really is easier if you take the bumper off. The fixing/drilling positions are marked on the back of the bumper and you'll have easier access to all the wiring routing.

Bumper takes 5-10 mins max to remove.

I forgot about the lights, so you're looking at 10-15 mins max.

As has been said - it can be done on or off. Did mine with the bumper on see here. Got this kit from amazon - this is the cheapest I've seen but I needed to paint the sensors to match. Other kits come with colour coded sensors. I think the popular ebay kit sensors themselves look slightly better but they probably all work just as well.

I didn't use a relay, just wired the live supply in from the left hand reversing light supply cable. Taking power from the fuse board would be neater and a relay would isolate the system from the light-you-home function (which puts the reversing lights on).

Hey there, I agree with the bumper removal! Piece of p*ss. I bought my parking sensors on Ebay for £18, they came colour matched too, but I think that was just lucky! They come in a few colours -

Took less than an hour to fit and use, the only bit that took me a while was plucking the guts to drill into my shiney bumper!
