    Default Re-circulate noise

Hi guys, I've just got into my car today, and hearrd a strange noise when i swithched on my ignition...
it was a series of very quick 'clicks', about 18

At first I thought it was some sort of relay as the noise was coming from around behind the glovebox area,
but it was only while I switched the ignition on while i turned off the 're-circulate' button off, it stopped .
So at least I know what it is now
So the question is, is this an easy job, and do-able at home or is it an expensive hard job?
my bro-in-law (mechanic) reckons it's the cogs on the motorised flap that closes the re-circulate valve...

    ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT
    mike

Sounds like the re-circ actuator mechanism. It is connected to the re-circ flap and is about 2 1/2" square by about 1" deep and has an electrical connector to it. Costs about £60 from VX.

Does it make this sort of sound - - linky
