    Default Any Ideas

Hi all has anyone any ideas on the following regarding a 57 plate 2.2 direct sri

    a) why does it continue to rev slightly when changing gear it is ok upto about 2.5k rpm but if driving quickly shall we say the rpm rise in the time you changing gear.
b)why does it cough badly about 3.5k rpm under load
c)could i take it to a local stealer and ask them to check it
    d) would you recommend new oil every 10k

the car was bought from motorpoint with 3k on it 3 months ago now has 11k so no service book yet etc

hi ya, as its a 57 plated motor, i would take it to a VX and get them to check it and fix it.
I had the same a 57 from motorpoint, had a few minor niggles, they took it in after a few moans they did ask kindly asked.
sorted now... im led to believe its 3yr or 60k miles warranty.

Try a can of injector cleaner and check the air filter isn't dirty and blocked.

abc) It obviously should not do this, and as others have stated, yes I would definately ask the dealer to check it out, make use of the warranty. After 30k of trouble free miles I took my own veccie in for a check over this week for not running smoothly and slight loss of power, it was not too bad and TBH I thought it may even be my imagination, but after they fitted a new EGR valve its like a different motor. Superb!

    d) I change my oil/filter every 10k, okay its not cheap unless you do it yourself, I remember at 10k miles I was charged just over 100quid, but this week at 30k I was only charged £78 (5/30 fully synthetic oil) same dealer but different branch... very strange. You can guess which one I shall be using in future...lol
IMO I would like to think that changing it more frequently has got to be good for the engine if not for the pocket. lol 20k to me seems a hell of a long time between oil changes.
