Default plan drawing software.... which one ??

ok have got to do the plans for a new garage, conservetory and porch (may as well go the whole hog )

the question being which software would you recommend for drawing the plans, i need it fairly straight forward and easy to use but would like it to look pretty good

prefer a free version of something but dont mind buying one if its worth it as been quoted about £400 just for the garage drawn

    any ideas very welcome

    Default

To do it properly you would need something like AutoCAD LT - but at nearly £800 quid that will be out of the question.

Google Sketchup wouldn't really be suitable (although there is a free version) as its more 3D based and bit of a pig to do accurate vectors compared to AutoCAD.

Probabkly best to look at something like Smart Draw etc.

You may be able to download a time limited trial version of something to save buying something.

    EDIT: thses may be worth a look http://www.vectorengineer.com/ , http://www.solidedge.eu.com/isapi/pa...ree_2d&lang=en , http://www.cadlogic.com/products/draftit/default.aspx
