Default engine died wont start anymore

hi any ideas was travelling at 40mph when the engine just stopped rolled to a stop engine will turn over but will not start no smoke from exhaust when turning over have spanner & emission light on tried to get it recovered but its too low for spec lift so gotta wait for flat bed this maybe the last straw for the vectra i never had any breakdown with Fords in 17yrs but 3 times in 5 months with the vec is getting annoying & costly

That's likely to be a sensor, when these fail they shut the ecu down and obviously the engine to prevent any further damage.

And you should get rid of tbh, the 1.9's seem to be either very good or dogs, if yours has broken 3 times in 5 mths, I'd say you have a dog there.

You can't buy decent Fords any more
These were classics, almost bomb proof
The latest Ford diesels all use PSA group engines, and have more faults than metal!
My company had four Mondeo Mk3 diesels, mine was the first to blow, and the last one finally went at the beginning of this year
Warranty claims were a joke, with delays, lack of parts, and having to book the car in twice for an inspection then repair
