Default About to buy the tent. What next?

    Sorry guys. Last question

Nearly there with the tent so what kit do we need to get? Sleeping bags, kettle, Ice Pick, Huskies, Flares etc.

The only thing we've got at the moment is some chairs, an old flask and a well ruffled copy of caravaners weekly

We'll only ever be on "proper" camping sites so just the basic weekend stuff really.

    Thanks once again

Gas cooker. Even if it's just to boil the kettle for a brew.
    Kettle.
    Fold away table.
Lights lanturn type are good to hand up inside.
    Decent airbed's.
Decent quality sleeping bags are a must. If Collette get's cold in the night thats the camping finished before you even start.

Damn, are you sure we won't need flares?

Thanks mate. We're off to the camping place Dave mentioned tomorrow. Will take the list.

    What Shan said

After seeing your stove last week Shan, I think I'll get one of those (just for a brew), seem cheap enough

I'm new to all this as well Steve, last weekend was only my 2nd time camping.

We probably went for overkill a little but we did use everything on our first trip @ Billing. The stuff we bought was:

    • Tent
    • Double Air Bed
    • Foot Pump (about to buy a 12v/240v electric one though while will make inflating much easier!)
    • Double Sleeping Bag
    • Single ring Stove
    • 4 (4 for a fiver) bottles of Butane gas for stove
    • small frying pan with folding handle
    • small milk pan (not actually used this yet)
    • metal whistle kettle
    • 2 mess tins
    • 25 litre Jerry Can for water
    • 2 travel pillows (double sleeping bag has pockets for them)
    • rubber mallet
    • spare ground pegs (not used yet but like to be prepared!)
    • electric hookup unit (bargain at £30 instead of £100)
    • 24 litre electric cool box
    • 240v neon 8w inspection light to hang inside tent
    • small LED battery operated remote control light
    • 2 camp chairs
    • fold/roll up table
    • 2 pairs of Wellies

We also took with us (that we already owned):

    • Torches and spare batteries
    • PMR Walkie Talkie radios and spare batteries
    • Mobile phones and spare batteries
    • Travel Mugs
    • Ice Blocks (for use in Cool box)
    • Tea Towels
    • Washing Up Liquid etc
    • Food/drink etc

Have a look at this too

    Hope that helps a bit
