confused couple of things not to sure about

hi peeps just a couple of questions

1/when i start the car up a picture of a spanner and oil can comes up then goes off when the car is started properly, is this ment to be doin that?

2/the other day was i was driving down the motoway that picture of the spanner and oil can comes on then my car just slowed down and couldn't accelarate until the car waqs restarted.
i have been running the car on bio diesel and its been running fine, as biodiesel gives out less emissions is it something to do with the sencers etc

    thanks from kev

afaik, the light does come on for a few seconds at startup. the other reason would be that it has logged an error code in the last 25 starts?
as for the light and slowing down, the car has gone into limp mode for some reason. you havent said what engine you have, but if its a cdti then you are not supposed to be using bio diesel - they dont like it.
Im sure someone more technical will clarify my points though.

If it's CDTi, then not good to use bio. DTi are OK with it though

Nothing to do with cost then

As said above , BioDiesel & Veg oils Etc are not well received by the Cdti.

Although the Spanner & oil can is the Service indicator

The Car & Spanner is the Fault (Eml) Light !!!
