please can any of you computer buffs explain why my wireless laptop keeps telling me it can't display the web page, it tells me on the startup bar that i'm connected to Sky, the signal is very good, and the speed is 54.0 Mps yt after i've been surfing for a few minutes it just seems to drop out and i have to do a repair then everything is fine again for so long, it's doing my head in!! I've just gone to submit this thread and it went dead again i had to do a wireless repair and now it's back!!

Try downloading NetStumbler and use it to check for any other wireless networks using the same channel in your vicinity. If there are then change the channel of your WiFi router to one that's 3 away from the others if possible

Cheers Dave, just tried to download it but said there was an error. I do know for a fact that next door is on Sky, so perhaps he's on the came channel as i am, so i'll change mine as you said and try that Thanks again

Is it the connection or the Vectra-C Site? I am hardwired and had it drop out 5 times in the last hour.

Standard test is - go to the BBC site, it has high capacity and generally if you have touble with that then it is local to you.

Check and see if you have it set to time out on idle, it'll be a router setting btw.
