    Default Caliper rewind tool?

I will be changing all the discs and pads on the vec when i come to do the rears will i need to use a rewind tool or can the piston on the rear caliper be pushed back by levering it with a screw driver between the old disc and pad if i am careful?

    Cheers.

    hi
you need a rewind tool m8
but some have used a pair of pointed pliers and push and twist them back.
but the rewind tool is best.

    hi me again
DONT push them back they are threaded and you will damage the piston.if damaged you will need a new caliper

You can either buy a rewind tool (ensuring Vec compatibility) or improvise one.

Don't think about doing this without the too folks. I thought I'd just use a pair of sharp nosed pliers but although I turned it, and turned it, and turned it.... I've had to put it all back together and will now have to go and get a tool tomorrow morning.
