    Default Kwik Fit Aircon Service

Kwik Fit are apparently offering aircon servicing where they garantee to lower the temperature by 10%.
Has anybody used this and what sort of price are we looking at?
Mines been playing up so rather than take it to the stealers I thought I might give it go if it's worth it?

and as if by magic it always lowers by at least 10%. Some people here rave about them on here.

If it were me I would use a mobile specialist or go and see one if it is not working. Are you sure it is not just out of gas? My girlfriends car is 2 years old I thought didn't work but it turned out to be completely out of gas but being a convertible I guess it never has been used.

It's a fixed price of £45 - better still if you've got the voucher that gives you 20% off.

But, it is just a regas - they don't claim to fix any problems, so if your problem isn't a lack of gas, you're better off with an air conditioning specialist.

They first Test the current Temp/Performance then suck out all the old gas & vacum test the system for leaks, If no leaks are found, The system is re-oiled (for lubrication of seals Etc) & then re-gassed, Once done a final Temp/performance test is done ETc.

If the Aircon machine does find a leak, It aborts & leaves the system Empty. You are then advised to go & have the system inspected Etc by an Aircon Repairer who can pinpoint the issue & repair/Replace

The wife had her Mazda done by Kwik Fit the other week.

If the system has a leak, they don't charge you. They did a good job, and now her Climate control works really well. It probably only needed a re gas, but they check the system out and you do get some come back with them, probably more than a man in a van type.
