Timing Belt or Chain

Hello There,

Im looking to get an 02 Plate Vectra Elite with the 2.2 Petrol Engine in it can someone confirm whether it has a Timing Belt or Timing Chain.

this engine has a cam chain mate,be careful as these have been known to snap.the oil spray can sometimes become blocked,this leads to not enough oil getting onto the chain.

Its got a chain ... or 2 if dont remember wrong.

Regular oil changes prevent this, & besides the oil jets onto the chain are wider now to avoid the problem.

With correct servicing there should be no problem with the chain
