A little gearbox help, please!

I have a 1.8 sri130 (petrol, manual, vectra b style) that has a deaded gearbox.
From what I can gather its an F17 (engine is a z18xe) with hydraulic clutch.
Now there seems to be an awful lot of Vauxhalls with the f17 fitted, are they all the same boxes or are they model specific? ie slightly different bits in each one.
I think I need a close ratio as well as its an SRi?

If some knowledgable person could help me out, it would be MUCH appreciated!

LOL, hit post, its in the 1.6 and the XEL as well. Final drive is 4.19 HTH

The f17 in the newer vecs is different is it?

That was for the B 99 onwards.

The C runs the same box on that engine but the F17+ WR & CR on the XER

I'm just quoting specs that I have mate. I dont see why not, I'd PM Mark (GSi 3.2) to give you a better rundown and an experienced definite answer on that.
