    Default Replacing CD Player

    Hi
    Does anyone know if I replace my standard veccy c CD player with a touch screen monitor will i lose the display on the screen where it shows fuel consumption, mpg etc?

    I don't think you lose the fuel computer bits, but it will mess up the clock and date. I'm not 100% though.
    Now I need a turbo to keep up!

    Its half can bus if its 53reg so no you wont lose info on screen but may lose steering wheel control.

    Easiest thing to do is pop the existing CD player out and try it.

    On my full Canbus car 2005 without the radio in the display still worked and showed all the normal computer things (MPG, trip distance etc) and you could still use the left hand wheel on the steering wheel to change the display between the settings.

    One thing you can't do is change the time without the original radio.

    Trip computer will still work but you will lose the ability to set the clock and without the correct adapter leads the steering wheel controls won't work for the headunit Alpine, Sony, Kenwood and Pioneer do adapter leads for the Veccy.
