My Knob Fell Off!

So, picture the scene. It is a gorgeous sunny Sunday morning, the sun is shining, the birds are singing. The car is waiting on the driveway all clean and gleaming......it's time to go to Billing! I slide gently into the drivers seat..........and then my knob falls off and rolls under the passenger seat!!!! Yes they seemed to think it was funny at Billing as well......I am of course refering to the gear knob! It doesn't seem to be threaded and i have simply pushed it back on. It has since come off again. Is this a typical problem, allbeit a minor one ?

is it an after market knob

if it is an original knob then i think you should maybe get an irmscher one i believe it is a nightmare to get the original one off ,people takin hacksaws etc to the gearknob

but to answer your original question i have never heard of anyone elses knob falling off

It is original, but an irmscher one sounds like a bit of a plan!

My Dad's one came off in his hand, but I put that down to his age

My (factory) knob comes off on 40 degree days.

Interesting, having said that we don't get any 40 degree days over here, at that kind of temperature I would expect plenty of other things could fall off as well
