Oil Service Light Keeps Appearing

I know how to reset the service lights. Just done an oil change and did a reset . All ok for about a week and then light re-appeared. Done this a couple of times now and get the same problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Just thinking, it only appears a few seconds when the ignition is turned on and then it goes out. Is this supposed to happen?

Yep, perfectly normal. Under normal circumstances it comes on when you turn on the ignition and goes off shortly after starting the engine.

Cheers Duncan, how would I know a service was due. If I press the trip reset (as per manual) all that shows is the oilcan/spanner. It does not show remaining milage?

how do u reset the service light,i did mine but used a scanner is there another way without this, i had an astra and could that without a scanner my 05 veccy is just cummin up to 10,000 miles now so gonna do oil,filter,etc but no service will come bk on shortly thanks

If it doesn't show the remaining mileage when you press the trip reset button with the ignition turned off, then it means you're on the EcoService schedule (fixed schedule of 12 months/20,000 miles - whichever is sooner) as opposed to EcoFlex (Max of 2 years/20,000 which is dictated/affected by your driving style).

The first indication you'll get is when the oil can/spanner symbol pops which indicates a service is due within 1,000 miles.
