    Default Range not changing

    Hi All,

Just purchased our first veccy, it is a 2.8t v6 auto elite on a 56 plate.

Anyone experienced an issue with the range not moving from around the 225 mile marker, it has been stuck there since the tank was full and we are now just inder half and it is still saying 222 - 225?

Does the range not show above 225 miles?

    Thnx in advance.

    James

It should do, I think a trip to the dealer is in order to sort that.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

The range is based on how much fuel you have in the car and how you've been driving for the previous 30 or so miles.

So if, for example, you drove very 'spiritedly' when you first filled up the range would show drop to a figure that was below 'average'. If you then drove more sensibly from that point on you'd be getting better mpg so your range would be improving i.e in this case not dropping at the same rate as it was initially if you see what I mean.

As far as I am aware, you can't reset the range
What you can do is check to see how it changes on each fill up of the tank
I tend to fill up in units of 7 litres, this is about the minimum the trip computer can cope with, and also that is about the same as 1/8 on the fuel tank gauge

I have noticed that when I fill up with 7 litres and the tank is low, the range sometimes does not respond
Equally, on occasions the fuel gauge doesn't respond correctly
The solution there is to switch off, let the fuel settle, then restart

Otherwise, it sounds like the BC is not receiving from the fuel sender
