    Default Car spanner light

    Hi All,

Just purchased our first vectra, it is a 56 plate v6 2.8t auto elite.

When we turn on the ignition the spanner light apears on does not go out, however when we turn on the engine it disapears straight away, is this supposed to happen?

    Thnx in advance James

I think it should on the facelifts. If in doubt, have a look in the manual
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

I'm pretty sure there is a difference in the Facelift and Prefacelifts start up dash display. On the pre's it means a stored code, on the facelifts I think its supposed to show and go out. Check the manual

Nah, that's the oil can one with a spanner in it, and no longer used on the facelift - it's 'INSP' instead.

Yep, that's exactly it. On the facelift it shows briefly when the ignition is turned on - it's only if it flashes when the ignition is on or remains on when the engine is started that there's something wrong. It's all in the manual.

You might be right but if its true what silly D*** at Vauxhall decided to change that. Or have they moved the spanner light to its own display pilot lamp like the Astra,on mine it comes up on the display that shows when a door or boot is open.
