Was digging around in the loft the other day and found an old pack of photos, thought they where worth posting for a laugh.
Ahh, the first true love of my life and my first Vauxhall as well as my first SRi and the first car I really did any "modding" on.
This old girl was a Cavalier Mk II 1.8 SRi, she was white when I bought her and in quite a bad way. I rebuilt the bodywork, resprayed the whole car black myself (will post some pics of the process later if I remember) added GSi alloy wheels (it came with steels standard), fully limo black tinted the whole car myself (all windows removed to do it properly except the back windscreen which I managed to do by taking the bootlid off), completely rebuilt the engine from the bottom up, added a full stainless exhaust system all the way through to a Pico Big Bore 2 back Box, had the custom graphics made up for the sides, changed the rear badges to MK III badges and colour coded the SRi badge and lots lots more.
This car was responsible for me doing City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Mechanics and Diesel Engineering Stage 1, 2 & 3 as well as the City & Guilds Motor Vehicle Electronics Diagnostics & Repair exams and is what really kick started my serious interest in mechanics, electrics and modding.
Don't laugh too hard please, this really was the serious love of my life back in 1994
Apologies for the poor quality pics, it had just been cleaned but not dressed or polished when these where taken and I don't have any others of this car other than during the rebuild and respray.
