    Default Suspension clunk??

I've got a clunking noise coming from what sounds like driver's side front.

Started to notice it yesterday on the way back from Billing, noticed it even more today on the way to work.
It's doing it on straight roads when you go over slight bumps, & also if you brake a little bit harder.

Can't see anything loose or broken, could this be the front anti-roll bar bushes letting me know they need changing?

the only other thing it could be is the bottom ball joint or the track rod end

    Well good news, clunk sorted
Brought the car into the workshop at break, jacked up drivers side & took wheel off to see what the problem was.

    Found this:

It was sat between the spring & the shock, when the car went over a bump the spring would lift & the stone thought it could escape
Then as spring compressed, it squeezed stone out of the way
You can even see the mark it has left on the inside of the spring

    result! Little barsteward!

I had something similar last summer - knocking suspension for ages which miraculously disappeared after a good session with the pressure washer in the wheel arch

Oh yes I can imagine the stories Chris

I thought if it was the anti-roll bushes, should'nt go that quick as they seemed ok going to Billing (even though I know they need changing).
