    Now that would be telling.

More a case of acceleration than pure speed. My remapped 2.0T goes like its pants are on fire if you ask it to. More a case of wanting to get away from closely grouped traffic, some of whom should clearly have been using the leftmost lane.

Ideally I would have been happy to cruise at a suitable speed but traffic conditions were not right. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it LOL

My speed at all times could be expressed in two digits.

Seems a lot like to keep to the outside lane when they don't need to, its really annoying and i don't drive and i am terrible when Richard puts his foot down to get passed once they have decided to move over to the middle lane, i have this thing about putting my foot to the floor (like i am pushing the break) if i see a car going to pull out

...to aid rapid progress John the trick is to get the two digit number to coincide with a time when you have the car pointing in the right direction.

    How was Kent BTW?

Yes, I know what you mean. The outside lane was continually congested with drivers who were either not maintaining a constant speed, or unwilling to move into the middle lane, and there was a lot of undertaking going on. Too many drivers seem to have lost sight of the general principle that they should occupy the lane furthest left that is free and where it is safe to do so. I am not in the habit of continually staying in the outside or the middle lane when the lane to the left is free, and it is safe/appropriate to move over into it.

I tend also to almost expect to be 'cut up' by drivers moving out into the outside lane when I am travelling faster than them, a and I even tend to ease off a little, and be prepared to brake, as I am passing just in case. Better safe than sorry, I suppose.

    LOL Steve.

I can honestly say that I did not take any wrong turnings, or lose my way or stray into another county on this occasion. Difficult to believe I know. It may never be repeated, of course it could just be a blip

We noticed you breaking quite a bit in the outside lane so we thought it was either a slow driver or a line of cars in front.

Undertaking is what causes a lot of accidents when drivers aren't concentrating and judging there speed, that is one of my fears.

Having been in a car accident once, when Richards RS Turbo was rolled by a van pulling out and hitting us, when he tried to go round it, that panics me.
If we can find the photo's, they will be put up on the forum, the car was a total right off and we both were very lucky to say the least.

All i can say is, someone must have been watching over us that day
