    Default Fog light query?

    Hi,
I have a 2007 Vectra SRi which I've owned about 3 weeks. The other day I noticed a rear fog light is out. Bulb is fine, fuse is ok, but the light cluster has no wire or connection for the fog light. Drivers side has 6 wires, passenger side has 5. Surely this can't be right? any help?

Something to do with the fact that they think the car behind might think that if both fogs are on you have your foot on the brake. But if only one fog shows. We should be able to tell the difference.

All Vectra-C's, both pre and facelift only have the one rear foglight wired up.

EU thing. IMO it's a good thing. As you see the intensity change when brake lights come on.

Personally, I think rear fogs should be removed completely, as most people seem unable to operate them properly.

ie onyl use when visibility is less than 100m, and then TURN them OFF when there is someone behind you close enough to see you....

Once I am behind the car infront, I can now see you, so TURN your fog(s) off. All you're doing now is burning my retina and reducing my ability to detect your brake light function.

They are NOT a force field preventing a car hitting you from the rear, it's not Star Wars on the M1..... FFS

Nah, rear foggys serve some purpose (albeit only on rare occasions), it's front foglights that get abused more - you get the idiots who think they're cool driving with sidelights/front foglights on (if it isn't dark enough to warrant dipped beam, how the hell is it necessary to have foglights??) and the numpties who switch them on because of bad weather, and forget to turn them off and drive around for days with them on.
