Default Sod it... I've done it....

After trying 2 tuning boxes now I have decided to go for something that I was going to do in the first place!!

Awaiting Courteney Sport to release the new software in the next 3-4 weeks then straight down there to get the CDTi remapped.

Looking forward to it Had a big jump from standard to the CR1, then again a big jump from the CR1 to the Powerklick and now it is time for the daddy

Costs alot more than a powerbox but thinking about the discussion on remaps and I am doing a few miles now and remap would be the best for my needs.

    So watch this space

But the rolling road with the tuning boxes will still be going ahead shortly.

I've just done a Rolling Road comparing various tuning boxes on my 1.9 CDTi. Ian_C came along and tested some on his 3.0 V6 CDTi as well.

Needless to say, I'm well happy with my CR1 (198.5bhp) and by far a better curve than any of the other boxes.

I agree though, a remap is the next stage, but I'm going to wait for the CR3 (which is in development by Diagnostix) as that will control many of the parameters that a remap controls and will be fully removeable between cars.

    Keep you all posted.

Alex - Still a botch in effort fooling the ECU no matter what way you look at it mate. It is still sending 'fake' signals to the ECU. Bit like the Unichip, HKS F-CON ECU, Greddy E-Manage etc.

    VXR remap sounds interesting Matt.

Yeah, I know mate, but it depends what price Mike's going to sell it at. Plus you can take it to your next CDTi (if connectors stay constant)

But if you go for the Courtenay re-map, the customer key is re-writable, therefore you can remove the map from the old car,and re-install it in the new car with the same key.

I would really be worried about my engine running near on 200bhp with a tuning box, I would imagine it smokes like hell, and it is not going to do the engine any good long term.

I'm running at 198bhp with no smoke, but yes I do worry (a little) about the running gear. ;-)

you not worried about the way your getting your extra horses though. 50hp from increased fuel pressure does not sound good to me
