I nearly went for an astra, just the basic, think it was a 1.7cdti. Took it for a drive, loverly car... just didnt feel like I had enough room, felt so similar space wise to the birds' KA...No back space. It's a nippy car for 2 people, no more! Then when I came back from test drive to see a 54 plate Signum 2.0T Design with 28'000k on the clock, sitting there for 5k... I NEVER looked back.

I would steer well clear of that car.....

Look at all the negative stories from people regarding Arnold Clark - the car may have no faults - but the Service from AC will probably suck... Harsh but prob true

IMO - that car is low spec too....

If I were you - look for a good 1 owner car with plenty of toys on the VXR Forums or go to a dealer/ specialist. They aren't a particularly specialist model - but you want one with plenty of background and good spec.

I have driven the VXR Astra and was impressed - but as others say - the cabin can feel a little cramped (I'm 6ft). Plenty of mods available and for now the residuals are pretty good - after the initial hit.

Test drive a Vec VXR too - I think you will change your mind

    HTH - Matt

Corsa does have better reviews. With a Vectra or a Signum you seem to get a lot more for your money and the Astra is small. Take a drive to see if it's right for you.

I dont have a family, so 90% of the time its only me in the car and the other 10% its me and the girl friend so a smaller war will cause no problems.

By low spec i guess you mean it has no options

with regards to arnold clark me and my dad have had at least 15 cars between us from there deal with the same guy an hes a ****** good fella had no issues or problems with them ever and what we have had they resolved straight away.

A mate of mine has just bought a blue one. It is one good looking car!! I had a go and he said "whatever you do don't push that sport button!!!". Well that was a red rag to a bull!! Very quick that's all I'l say about that. Great supportive seats, lovely piano black fascia to look at, nice wheels........that's it I'm trading mine in now....

Looks like a very nice car BUT... 4 previous owners! That means you will be the 6th if you buy it.
