    Honestly.......

Sell it and buy a 1.9 CDTi....

The 2.2's are very hard to tune as they are not common rail, the only things available are a Dragon tuning box(Silver V had one on his) or a Regal Remap(GG has one on his)..

I have a 2.2 and have looked into various option of tuning for them but due to the fact the fuel pumps are fragile at best, have decided not to bother with it.

warning... the DTi pumps don't like tuning too much.. don't get hung up chasing figures......

if you want a quicker car, don't mod the DTi's engine...if it goes wrong it'll cost you as much as the car again to put it right...if you want quicker, sell it and buy a car thats faster from standard.... it's the only REAL way forward..

I had one and had a tunit variable box on it. 150 bhp with filter & air box mods, a hell of a good torque feeling from mid range - up hill it could annoy some fast cars. Costs a bomb to tune em though, thus a cdti 1.9 now owned. 185 bhp on a shoestring (thanks again caterman)

Ive looked a various options and there isnt much. If you want big power you somehow need to upgrade the fuel pump. i looked into getting the fragile parts strengthened and a mechanic friend of mine said "it will cost s**t loads!" so i didnt bother. at best if you want to burn some cash is get the remap, an intercooler upgrade, panel filter or housed filter and exhaust. if you have some change then maybe hybrid turbo but thats more money than its worth.

EDIT: also thought about buying a cdti fuel pump but wouldnt know how to fit it in and if it could be done. anyone know if it can?

    And work totally differently.

It always makes me laugh when people suddenly want a lot more power.

To me it comes down to product research and requirements when purchasing. If you want a fast car, don't go for a 1.8, or 2.0 DTi - - go for the 2.8T or 3.2. BUT, if you want an economical car, go for the 1.8, or 2.0 DTi and not the 2.8T or 3.2

It's all about understanding your needs and doing some research for a car to meet those needs. Common sense really.
