    Default Network Q query

Anyone know the criteria for a network Q car i.e what the age limit a car can be to be Network Q approved; reason for asking is that a Vx dealer I'm in the process of dealing with is telling me that the car I'm purchasing is over three years old (dec' 2003 model) and is hence known only as an ' Approved ' and not Network Q car and will only come with 6 months AA warranty, although it will apparently go through the same procedure as a Network Q vehicle would go through, just feel I could be getting ripped off here with the warranty side of things!
    Cheers Pete

Network Q depends on age and mileage
Cars can be up to 6 years old and/or 50K miles

Sounds to me like the dealer is being fair in telling you exactly what warranty you will be getting. My guess is that it is up to the individual dealers as to which cars are "Network Q".

There was a thread on here a couple of days ago on a similar subject - member bought a car from Drive Vauxhall under the impression he was getting a Network Q warranty only to find out he didn't.

If you really want a Network Q car it sounds like you will have to pick another car.

Had a bit of a result today, spoke to the sales manager at the dealership and explained that I wasn't happy about the fact that the car was advertised as a network Q car suggested to him in a fairly polite manner!! that it would be a good idea to supply it with a network Q warranty due to advertising and all that !! and has agreed to it, so a bit happier about the sale now , oh and got them to throw in 6 months tax in the process.

Exclamation It's always wise to read the advert

That is a result. Well done

Just recently I went to look at a Signum at a local dealer having checked the spec on the NQ web site and also by phone. Was greeted by "The advertised price is wrong and it should be..." another £1500 - not impressed so walked away and bought a new one. Colleague has just bought an Astra from a different dealer and had a call to say they had given him "the wrong reg". He checked the new reg given on the NQ web site and found that this car was correct spec but £1700 less than the agreed price.

Bottom line - always read the adverts, the small print and then be nice and polite and point out the error of their ways. It can be amazing what they will do to keep your business.

make sure you check your agreement properly before you sign it, you could be paying for it and for the tax aswell, as when my mate went to the dealers was told they would throw in 6mths tax and a full network Q warrenty. guess what on the papre work was listed "6 mths tax @ £98, and warrenty @ £385 or there abouts. YOU GET NOWT FOR NOWT AND NEVER FORGET IT"

True, salesmen always try to rush you to "just sign there" and "there".
