Default X Box 360 Wireless Connection

Quick question really, it's a pain running a lead from the X box to my router now I have moved house, my router is a wireless netgear and I have a netgear usb wireless dongle thing as well. Can I plug this into the X box to make the connection wireless or do I need the actual X box wireless thing that plugs in?

    Thanks

Pretty sure you need the proper x box wireless adaptor. They are not cheap either

Yep you can do that. You can also run your pc wireless and plug your xbox into your PC. Don't ask me how though

Yep, you could do that if your router can be positioned such that you can still plug it onto the phone/cable socket.

Other option instead of the Xbox wireless adapter (although I would recommend it as it really is plug and play, very small, attaches onto the console itself on the back, needs no power supply and is all controlled from the console) is what's called an Ethernet bridge. Basically it's a little box that plugs into the Ethernet socket on the Xbox and then links wirelessly to your router. A bit cheaper than the Xbox thing but TBH more faff. It'll need a power supply and to set it up you'll initially need to plug it into a PC as you access it through a web browser interface.

I know they're a wee bit pricey for what they are, but the Xbox one is just so simple and less faff.
