    Default Is it possible to....?

Hi all, This is my fisrt post..

Ive just bought a 2003 vectra c 1.8 ls, the only thing wrong with it is that the driver side window / mirror switch control is missing.

    Couple of questions -

Is it possible to close the driver side window with out the switch? as it is open about 1/2 an inch.

    and

Wheres the cheapest place to buy a replacement switch from?

    Many thanks

    Nice site!!

    Nice site!!
    try this:

unlock the doors, then double lock and hold down the lock button.

    the windows should come up.

or hold open and they should come down.

    see if that works.

put ya key into drivers door lock, lock then dead lock and keep the key in the locked position and the windows should fully close. If not then the chances are theres something blocking it on the inside, possibly a cable if you've fitted after market speakers or something........just pop off the door card and have a look. HTH

    Many thanks guys!!!!

I was able to use the key to close the windows, was a little worried that the car was going to get soaked in the rain before I was able to buy a door switch.

    Cheers again

I didn't think that worked with Vectra-Cs? Pretty sure it didn't on my previous 53 reg, and definately doesn't work on my current 06 reg.

Works on mine (03) and covered in PDF manuals I have up to 04 (i.e. I don't have the 05 and 06 versions). In the 07 PDF manual it doesn't mention it, so I can only assume it was dropped on the facelift?

Yep, they dropped quite a few little niceties on the facelift, although I think it also gained some as some sort of balance.

Can't find mention of key in door lock operating windows in my Aug 2003 pdf manual. Only reference is to hold down the remote fob buttons to do the opening / closing - which worked on my 53 reg and 06 reg.
