    Question Faulty Fuel Guage?

This is the second time it's happened now - filled the tank right to the brim, but on starting the car the guage only shows between 3/4 and full.

I don't think the whole guage is wrong, because the range warning came on just after the fuel light which is about right.

Any ideas before I hand it over to the dealer? I've had a search through some old threads, seen this PDF which doesn't really apply. Ian T reported a similar problem, someone suggested a blocked breather?

    Advice & suggestions, please?

    Ta

I have also had this happen a few times. Quite infrequent though...

It happened to me once when I filled up with the wife in the car. Because she was in there I left the keys in the ignition (off) but radio on.

When I started the fuel gauge ever so slowly (about an hour as I recall) went up to the correct level.

Usually my keys are in my pocket when I fill and the car gets locked when I go and pay. Something to do with the little scrotes around lakeside..........
