    Default Mobile Motorway cameras

I was travelling up the A19 today and I passed a van on the other side of the motorway but as I looked over the other side I passed two cameras on my side of the motorway. It looked like they were remote control I think, with him being on the other side. I was wondering if they are speed cameras? I might have been going a little fast in my works van. The front of both cameras looked square and long. The cameras sat side by side pointing at the traffic, probably about knees height. The van they were in was not marked up, it just had the motorway graphics on the rear end and his beacons on.

No I very much doubt it. Most forces dont use speed camera vans on motorways, more likely to be an ANPR or traffic count. Most likely not even connected to the police.
In fact having read your post again, almost definitely ANPR cameras.

It was strange how they had two together, twins side by side. I just hope it was not for speeding. I was thinking one was an anpr and the other was to catch people on the phone?

This is the camera I think I saw today that I passed:

Deffo ANPR, so if you're all taxed and insured you're ok . Two cameras, one to cover each lane

I think the clue is the wording on the side of the van.

(I know that's not the van you saw and have found the pic subsequently - but I couldn't resist )

..and Big Brother in that guise I personally have absolutely no problem with. I think ANPR is a fantastic thing and if it gets uninsured, untaxed, disqualified drivers etc. off our roads then the more ANPR the better.

ANPR is great and should be more widely used IMO.

If you're taxed and insured then you've got nothing to worry about, people that aren't deserve all they get quite frankly.

i know what the next step will be

put them on all motorways and bill you for the millage your doing over a set limit and if you make the distance between them to fast and the fine will be on the mat befor you get home

one small step at a time ,,what will be next ,you wait and see but i do hope im wrong
