Default Excellent dealer service re: missing locking wheel nut!

Bought my 150Sri CDTi a 2.5 months ago, on an 06 plate. Yesterday moring, woke up and had a flat on one of the rear wheels. Got everything out of the boot ready for action and thought 'Hmmm where's the locking wheel nut?'. Looked high and low, nowhere to be found. Did I have it when I bought the car? Couldn't remember. Telephoned the dealer (Vx dealer), expecting an arguement along the lines of:
Vx - It was there when you bought the car.
Me - Oh no it wasn't
    And so on. But no...
Vx said, 'Have another good look for it, if it doesn't turn up, we'll send a recovery truck and bring it back here (a round trip of 45miles!!) where we'll drill off the nuts and replace with a new set. But if we find it in the car, you'll have to pay for everything.'
Me: 'How much would that be?'
Vx: '£150 for recovery, hours labour to drill them off (£50ish) and £35 for a new set of nuts' Total:£185.
    'OK' says I.
Truck arrived within the hour, no sign of nut in car, all I had to pay for was a new tyre.
Vx would have been well within their rights to charge me for the whole lot. I can't believe they didn't put up more of a fight.
Truth be told, I can't remember whether I had the original nut or not.
I say well played Vx for taking a customer at face value.
