This is my first post - so hi everyone!
I've got an 05 plate 1.9 CDTi 150, and the flipping thing has an intermittent stalling issue. It's been regularly serviced and has 41K on the clock. Currently used just on short journeys by the wife around town.
History: It first happened when it was still under warranty about a year ago, and under warranty we had a new inlet manifold gasket fitted which cured the problem for about 3 months.
Numerous visits back to the garage from then until 6 weeks ago when they said they had finally found the problem - diesel filters...weird thing is they were changed during the service in December, but this seemed to have worked until 2 weeks ago when it started to do it again!
It normally happens at low revs, like roundabouts and traffic lights. You can't restart with the key straight away, you have to wait between 30 and 60 seconds before it will start again. But, if you're quick you can jump start it before you stop - and this works.
Taken it back to the garage a few times over the last 2 weeks and they can't find a problem with it (although the idle is rough to me it's not to them). They say that there's a common fault which causes this issue, but won't do anything about it until they either get it to stall or something comes up on the computer - surely if it's a common fault they'll just fix it?
My main worry is that the car is no longer under warranty...any ideas gratefully received as I'm losing confidence in my local dealer.
